This year's program offers presentations on fascinating topics in very different areas of the law.

Real Estate Conveyancing: 3 Types of Closing
The first session will be about real estate conveyancing with a focus on trust conditions. In this panel presentation by three experienced real estate practitioners, each presenter will review the pros and cons of one of the different types of closing: (1) protocol; (2) traditional trust conditions; and (3) new standardized trust conditions.

Bill C-46, Criminal Code Transportation Offences
After the break, RCMP Sgt. Mark Hume will present on the proposed federal Bill C-46 amendments to the transportation provisions in the Criminal Code, primarily focusing on drug-impaired driving. This is in anticipation of the legalization of marijuana under the federal Cannabis Act.

Lunch and Golf Registration

Attendees may also choose to register for a luncheon and/or golf tournament
at the Portage Golf Club (near Stride Place on the Island) taking place right
after the program. Note: There will NOT be a dinner after the golf tournament.
