Foreign Legal Consultant

Rule 3-32 defines a foreign legal consultant as a person who practices in Manitoba the law of a foreign jurisdiction in which the person is entitled to practice law. The Act defines foreign jurisdiction as a jurisdiction outside of Manitoba in which the legal profession is regulated.

Membership for Foreign Trained Individuals

Information for interested parties presenting academic or professional credentials obtained outside of Canada who wish to obtain membership in the Law Society of Manitoba.

Information for Lawyers with Foreign Practising Experience

Having completed their National Committee of Accreditation assessment, this information is for lawyers applying for admission to the Law Society of Manitoba's CPLED Program and as an Articling Student who have practising experience outside of Canada seeking an exemption from all or part of the Manitoba articling requirement and CPLED Program requirements.
