- 2012 Annual Member Report
- The annual membership report is due April 1, 2013 and is now available online through the Members Portal on the Law Society of Manitoba website. It combines your annual report on your continuing professional development activities in 2012 and your Law Corporation renewal (for those that have them). This report must be filed by every Manitoba lawyer who practiced law in 2012. Completing and submitting this report is mandatory. Your personalized report is now available online and can be completed and submitted online. Once you have submitted your Report you will receive an email confirmation that it has been received. You will also be sent a PDF copy for your records.
- Member Update Form
- For use by Practising, Inactive, Non-Practising and Suspended members as well as, Articling Students and Registered Law Students to submit changes (address, employment etc) of contact information and other details to the Law Society of Manitoba. ____________________________________________________________________________ Some changes are required pursuant to Law Society Rules: __ 2-75(1)“A member must advise the chief executive officer of: a) the name under which the member, or his or her law firm or employer carries on business; and b) the address of his or her place of business _________________________________________________ 2-75(2) "A lawyer must immediately advise the chief executive officer of: a) any change in the lawyer's place of business; and b) any change in the address of the lawyer's place of business"
- Application to Commence Active Practice
- An Application to Commence Active Practice must be filed by all new members who intend to practise law in Manitoba. Applicants requesting to commence active practice more than 90 days AFTER their Call to the Bar must also submit this application together with a non-refundable application fee along with a certificate of standing from all governing bodies of the legal profession, inside and outside of Canada, of which you are or were ever a member, dated not more than 30 days before the date of your application.
- Application to Resume Active Practice
- This application is for Non-Practising, Inactive or Suspended members who have previously held Practising status and now wish to resume active practice. Please note this application should be submitted two to three weeks prior to any anticipated start date along with the non-refundable application fee and a certificate of standing from all governing bodies of the legal profession, inside and outside of Canada, of which you are or were ever a member, dated not more than 30 days before the date of your application.

- Application to Withdraw From Practice (Sole Practitioner)
- Specific details regarding a members practice are required when a member of a sole practice withdraws. Please note: refunds are issued based on the date the Application to Withdraw is received at the Law Society's offices.
